A Bold Step Forward for Monmouth’s Academic Future

Building on our 172-year legacy, Monmouth College is taking a bold step forward to ensure we remain a strong, vibrant liberal arts institution that meets the evolving needs of today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce. Beginning this fall, the College will launch six new academic schools—each designed to expand career pathways, foster hands-on learning, and create even greater value for our students and our region.

The new academic schools are:

  • School of Business
  • School of Communication and Creative and Performing Arts
  • School of Engineering, Sciences, and Innovation
  • School of Education and Human Development
  • School of Health and Natural Sciences
  • School of Humanities and Civic Engagement

These schools reflect our commitment to interdisciplinary learning, strong student outcomes, and community engagement. They also reflect what students and families value most today: affordability, real-world experience, and clear pathways to purposeful careers.

As part of this transformation, we will also begin phasing out some under-enrolled programs starting in Fall 2026. This will allow us to reinvest in areas of high demand—just as we’ve done in recent years with successful new programs in engineering, neuroscience, marketing, and nursing.

Importantly, our commitment to this region and to our community partners remains unwavering. A stronger Monmouth College means a stronger Monmouth community. As we create new opportunities for students, we are also expanding ways to collaborate with local organizations, schools, businesses, and civic leaders like you. Together, we can continue to ensure that our graduates contribute meaningfully to the vitality of this region.
